Green Day win and move on to semi-finals of MTV March Madness against MCR

Green Day fans narrowly defeated Adam Lambert fans in MTV's March Madness. This moves Green Day onto the semi-finals where they will face My Chemical Romance.

It was a very tough battle. Adam Lambert fans took over really early on and were up in the 70% range in the first days voting. Green Day fans united to slowly claw our way back and take the victory.

I had an awesome time bullshitting with Green Day fans over on our forum while voting. I encourage you guys to do the same. 'Glamberts' you guys were fun. We hope you guys will help support Green Day going into the finals of this bracket. 

Green Day is now up against My Chemical Romance. So go to the MTV site and start voting. Let's get an early lead. Voting ends April 2nd.

Studio Update video #10: 3/28

Well, Do not be stressed about the defeat of Green Day for a while on MTV MusicalMarch Madness 2012. Because Green Day has released a new studio video of 10.
The 10th studio video from Green Day has just been put up on the band's official YouTube channel, once again showing the band recording, as well as a few snippets of what looks like some sort of creepy movie set and various bits of their studio. A drum track plays throughout the whole video, over audio of the band chatting and discussing recording.

Green Day adds two more tour dates to their European tour

Early this morning the Idiot Club confirmed two more dates for Green Day's summer tour in Europe after a few initial rumors of more dates being added tour the tour yesterday. These next two dates of the tour are both in Germany and will precede their festival show at the Rock am See.

The two new dates are as follows: 

- Wednesday, August 29, 2012 - Munchengladbach Hockey Park
- Thursday, August 30, 2012 - Berlin Wuhkheide

Angels and Airwaves and All Time Low will be the supporting acts for these two dates of the tour.

Tickets for the two shows are going on sale tomorrow at 9am local European time over on Eventim.de.

Green Day goes up against James Durbin in week three of MTV's "Musical March Madness"

In round two of MTV's "Musical March Madness" Green Day beat out the Lana Del Rey and are now paired up with James Durbin in round three of the competition. 

James Durbin is an American Idol alumni and came in fourth place on the tenth season of the show.

Right now Green Day is in the lead with 54% of the vote and James Durbin isn't far behind with 46%. Click here to head on over to MTV.com and vote for Green Day to show your support. Voting ends in less than two days on March 28th so get voting!

Billie Joe's episode of Nurse Jackie is available to watch right now!

Showtime has uploaded an edited version (though still 30 minutes long) of the season premiere of 'Nurse Jackie' onto YouTube. This includes Billie Joe's guest appearance. It's a bit short, but check out his acting chops!

If you really just want to see Billie Joe's scenes skip to 9:30 in the video. The YouTube version has some cuss words and drug use edited out. You can watch the full unedited clip when the show premieres on April 8 on Showtime.

New video of Green Day in the studio update #9

Over a week after the last one and we have another studio video released by Green Day's official YouTube channel. Billie describes a "new sound" and how it's "fucking with his head". Rob Cavallo goes on to talk about how the band is creating a "powerful statement" with their music. Don't know about you, but all these teasers are getting me insanely excited for the end product!

Making of the "21st Century Breakdown" music video

Last October, Almost Midnight Productions Inc. posted a short video that takes a behind the scenes look at Green Day's music video for the song "21st Century Breakdown". This company produced the video back in 2009. Specifically, based on the date listed on the movie slate shown, the music video was filmed on September 9th, 2009, about five months after the album came out.

Almost Midnight Productions has also helped produce a few other music videos for Green Day, including "Wake Me Up When September Ends", "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "American Idiot", and "21 Guns".

Cast of Nurse Jackie talk about having Billie Joe on the show

 Billie Joe is going to make a guest appearance on the Showtime show Nurse Jackienext month. Just recently, Showtime uploaded a video to YouTube that has the main cast of the show talking about all the guests on this coming season. In the clip below, we see Eve Best and Edie Falco saying some kind words for Billie Joe.

"He had a sense of confidence. He's obviously a performer. Though he may not have had a ton of experience as an actor, there was nothing that could happen that he couldn't handle."

Billie Joe's appearance will air on the season opener next month on April 8th. If you would like to watch the show, you would need to be subscribed to Showtime. If you aren't, I'm sure it'll show up online sometime soon after.

Green Day goes up against Lana Del Rey in week two of MTV's "Musical March Madness"

In round one of MTV's "Musical March Madness" Green Day beat out the Decemberists and are now paired up with Lana Del Rey in round two.

Last weeks matchup seemed like a pretty easy win for us Green Day fans and this week I think we can win again pretty easily since I can have never heard of Lana Del Rey before today.

Green Day to Headline I-Day Festival in Italy

Green Day is stacking up their festival dates this summer with the news that they will be headlining the fourteenth I-Day festival in Bologna, Italy in September 2012! Green Day will be playing on Sept 2nd, the second day of the festival with the first day being headlined by The Killers. 

This news comes first from MTV Italy and has now beenconfirmed by the official Green Day website as well as I-Day's website.
